Capacity building efforts of BIRDS are focused at three levels viz., community and staff and people from outside agencies. During the reporting quarter, community have been trained and exposed to various aspects that would enable them to lead a more decent life. The staff was trained / exposed in various topics by both in-house and outside initiatives. Some staff had the opportunity enhance their skills in reputed institutions abroad. Top management of projects handled by BIRDS could visit other countries as part of their capacity building as well as lobbying and advocacy. With modernization of BIRDS training center in progress at the end of the reporting period, it is expected that the Muthyalapadu farm will become a good training center catering to the needs of all types of development workers. Staff as well as member of community, apart from foreigners visited BIRDS as part of their training, exposure and lobbying. In this chapter, activities aiming at capacity building community and staff, in different projects implemented are described; apart form an account of training activities at BIRDS Training Center and people visiting the BIRDS operational area.
